Hi, I’m Shatoria and Welcome to Coin Countin Mama
Coin Countin Mama™ evolved out of my desire to get out of debt. My personal finances were jacked up. I was working on a full time job that paid pretty decent but I wasn’t a good money manager. I was addicted to spending money. As a result, I was paying bills late, incurring late fees. In a nutshell, I was living paycheck to paycheck.
Giving birth to my eldest son, was a wake up call for me. I knew that I wanted to give him the world. In order to do that, I needed to make up in my mind that I didn’t want to be broke anymore. At that moment, I decided to change how I handled my personal finances.
To date, I’ve paid off $5,000 of credit card debt by revamping my budget.
I created this platform because I want to inspire and empower individuals to make smart financial decisions. I want you to think of me as that good old friend who you take with you to Chili’s and chat with about money while eating chips and salsa. This is a judgment free zone. I want to share tips, tricks and techniques about budgeting, saving money, making money and getting out of debt.
Documenting my debt free journey allows me to hold myself accountable for my actions while inspiring and encouraging women along the way. .

- Born and raised in Florida and I can’t swim .
- Don’t like riding on elevators that make creaking noises – it freaks me out.
- I cannot stay awake while watching movies – regardless of how great the movie is – I always fall asleep.
- My preferred soda of choice is Canada Dry Ginger Ale.
- I am an early riser – I can go to bed late and I always manage to wake up prior to 8 am.
- Public Restrooms are atrocious – I’ll hold it.
- The sound of rain tapping on my window is very relaxing it makes me want to sleep all day.
