Welcome to my first blogging series titled Blogging Updates!

OMG, I can’t believe I just said that. LOL. A few months ago, I was sitting at my computer scared to publish my site. Now I am sitting here sharing my blog updates!

Let me start off by saying I am a blogging newbie. This is a new journey and a completely new experience for me.

Purpose and Goals Behind Coin Countin Mama

CoinCountinMama launched in August 2018.

This blog is a result of my financial frustration. I woke up one day and decided that I am tired of being in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. PERIOD! In order to deal with my issues head-on, I decided to document my financial journey and share beneficial information along the way. Millennials are faced with an insurmountable amount of student loan and credit card debt. As a result of those fiscal decisions, they’re pinching pennies in order to make ends meet.

I started Coin Countin Mama because I want to interact with those who can relate to my struggles. I am in my early 30s, I have two degrees, a decent job, I’m a new mom and I’m struggling financially!!! My goal is to create an online community dedicated to helping those who are tired of being in debt, living below their means and ready to simplify their finances and build their net worth.

I will be blogging about my financial situation and sharing it with you.

The purpose of this blog is to equip you with the tools that will change your mindset about finances. Eliminate the employee mindset and tap into your entrepreneurial mindset. Let me help you to simplify your finances and build your net worth.

Monthly PageViews

August 2018

For the month of August, I had 415 page views!

People are actually visiting my blog :-).

August 2018 - Pageviews

This was a HUGE accomplishment. As I mentioned earlier, I am just starting out. I’m not expecting to have thousands of viewers in one day (this is the ultimate goal….lol) but for right now, I’m satisfied with my few.

The site was averaging 16 users per day.

My primary source of traffic came from Facebook, followed by Pinterest and then Instagram.

I advertised the blog launch on Instagram and Facebook one week prior to the launch.

The blog posts that I published in the month of August were

September 2018

For the month of September, the blog had 2,114 page views. I was literally jumping up and down and dancing in my bathroom mirror…..LOL.

I was completely shocked by this drastic increase!!!! I reached 200 visitors in one day. Funny thing is the day before, I did not have ANY viewers on the blog.

Sept 2018 - Pageviews

My primary source of traffic came from Pinterest (I’ll go into details below), Facebook, and then Instagram.

The blog posts that I published in the month of September are:

Social Media

Pinterest

I started August with no Pinterest followers. In fact, I was not active on Pinterest. My strategy consisted of posting my own pins (I only had 3 pins) and logging off. August ended with 9 viewers.

For the month of September, I decided to revamp my Pinterest strategy. I joined Tailwind! Within three days of joining, I had a pin go viral, resulting in a huge increase in blog traffic. I went from having 16 viewers a day to having my 600 in one day 400 in another. I was on cloud 9!

I’ve joined several group boards and I created my own group board. I’ve read several articles on Pinterest about boosting your followers and since I’ve created my group board I’ve found that I’m gaining followers.

Initially, I followed everyone who repined my pins. About a week later, I decided to stick with following those users who are in the same niche.

In August, I created Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts for my site. At the time, I assumed that I could simultaneously share posts on Twitter and Facebook. After the initial post, I realized that I need to create additional posts to engage with my audience. By the end of this month, I realized I needed to shift my focus on two social media outlets as opposed two four because it became OVERWHELMING.

In September, I decided to focus primarily on Pinterest and Instagram. Engagement has increased and I’ve met quite a few financial bloggers who have been encouraging throughout this process.

Email Subscribers

This is an area that I initially did not focus on because I wanted to ensure that my blog was up and running. Now that it’s up and running and I have a good grasp on it. I will focus on building my blog subscribers.

For the month of August and September, I gained 34 subscribers.

Networking With Bloggers

I’ve networked with two bloggers since I’ve started blogging. The first blogger that I met is J. Renee Ledbetter she is the content creator of One Heiress Lane.

The second blogger that I met is Melanie and she is the creator of MommyFinance.

I’m glad that I have connected with these ladies. They have truly looked out for me and have shared vital information that has assisted me as I create this blog.

They’ve been EXTREMELY supportive of this blog and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them.

I like to consider them as my blogging accountability buddies…LOL.

I’m going to keep this nice and short because I will be doing a blog feature leading up to the new year. In that feature you will have a chance to get to learn more about these ladies!!!

Blogging Goals for October
